Early Morning Hours of a Newbie

I've been involved with social networking for nearly a year now... So much has happened and I still LOVE it!  Just for fun, here is my very first blog (minus a few embarrassing spelling mistakes!)

It's dark at 7 AM and the traffic's been building outside my door.  Today is Tuesday.  Two hours ago I kissed my daughter, son'-n-law and amazing grandson good-bye as they head for the ferry returning to Vancouver after our Thanksgiving weekend spent in various combinations of family gatherings.  I've responded to some emails, twitter'd, facebook'd and finally set up this blog I've been meaning to for weeks now. I'm ready for my first cup of coffee and feeling reflective. It's so darn quiet!  None of this is new, so what is?

What is new for me is this age and all this extra time.  I'm half a century old, my kids are on their own, I have the same husband I started out with 31 years ago, I've scaled back my job (adult education support) to part time (we care for clients in our home full time) and I've started a new business - PearlBrite. So, when I say 'extra time' I mean it's been redistributed, really, to time for learning how to run a business in a completely different way.

Social-networking may just save my life.  I have an AMAZING business coach (Cris Vleck - of Strategic Insanity http://www.strategicinsanity.com/ ) who totally opened my eyes to this new world and, as it turns out, it's a perfect match. You mean I can just be myself?  That's AWESOM-ness with a bit of a twist.

It turns out I'm a Newbie at being me.
